It was also the first game in the season to have the license to some of the leagues (Football League and the La Liga). It included three new leagues and featured a mid season roster update via the PlayStation online service and Xbox Live. LMA Manager 2005 was released later that year in October. The game brought a new look to the menu over the last two games. LMA Manager 2004 was released in March 2004. This game is known by many fans as the best in the series. Next was LMA Manager 2003, the first game in the series to be released on the Xbox. The step up from the PS1 to the PS2 was huge with the expansion of the leagues and a more realistic match engine. The PlayStation 2 version of the game was released in April 2002. LMA Manager 2002 was the final game in the series on the original PlayStation. The series began on the PlayStation with LMA Manager in late 1999 and was then followed by LMA Manager 2001, also on the PlayStation, a year later. It also has a focus on a 3D Match Engine, not seen in many other football management sims. It is one of the only football management games to be made for consoles, where as Football Manager or Championship Manager are developed for the PC. A North American release has not been confirmed at this time.LMA Manager are football (soccer) management games which are published by Codemasters. LMA Manager 2003 will be released in the UK in October, with versions for the rest of the major European territories to follow. The 2002 edition went straight to the top of the UK PS2 sales chart, where it remained for two weeks, managing to keep EA Sports' Championship Manager: Season 01/02 off the top spot during its first week on sale. The LMA Manager series debuted on the PlayStation in the UK in November 1999, spawning two PlayStation sequels and, earlier this year, LMA Manager 2002 for the PS2. The game will let players run no fewer than 16 leagues simultaneously, which compares favorably to Championship Manager's three, although the transfer database contains only 17,000 players compared to Championship Manager's 80,000. The TV-style presentation of the matches will be complemented by the BBC's commentary team of Gary Lineker and Alan Hansen. In Europe, Xbox owners are already able to play Sports Interactive's soccer management game Championship Manager: Season 01/02, but whereas that game is entirely text-based, Codemasters' offering allows players to actually watch the matches that they've spent time picking their teams and tactics for. LMA Manager 2003, which is due for release in the UK in October, will feature 720 European teams from 28 different countries-each with authentic player, stadium, and kit information. Codemasters today released the first screenshots of the latest game in its successful soccer management series on the Xbox.
